— Salmo 34:18

José Cruz García

May 3, 1952 – April 23, 2025

With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we announce the passing of José Cruz García, who was called home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025.

José was born on May 3, 1952, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, to Encarnación Arredondo and Rito García. He grew up in San Bernardo, Durango, alongside his siblings: Ernesto†, Celia, Arturo, Socorro†, Manuel†, and Nicolás.

As an adolescent he returned to Ciudad Juárez and later lived in Tijuana and California. God’s plan eventually led him to Denver, Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Hilda. Together, they shared over 50 years of marriage, and were blessed with two children: Patricia (Ismael) and José Jr. (Lorena). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Reyna, Christian, Gabriel, Adriana, and José Cruz III, who were all his pride and joy.

José was a hardworking and kind-hearted man. He was not only a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, but also a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, godfather, and neighbor.

Though we grieve his loss, we find peace in knowing that his love and legacy will live on forever in our hearts. With faith, we look forward to the day we will meet again.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
