Jose R. Godina, 70, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Jose was born July 1, 1955, in Agua Zarca, Jalisco Mexico the son of Pablo and Maria T. (Solorzano) Godina. He was raised and educated in Mexico.
Jose married Maria R. Godina on February 12, 2011, in Monmouth and she survives.
Jose worked for Western Stoneware, Mariah, IBP and Farmland.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth. He enjoyed watching soccer, gardening and traveling back to Mexico. Most of all Jose loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving include his wife, Maria R. Godina; his children; Maria A. (Jose Rosario) Godina, Blanca L. Godina and Cristina M. Godina all of Monmouth; 8 grandchildren, Diego Godina, Natalia Godina, Isaias Godina, Joel Godina, Dominic Colbrese, Malcolm Cobrese, Joshua Mason Jr, and a soon to be additional granddaughter; his siblings, Teodoro (Maria J.) Godina, Jesus M. (Maria C.) Godina, Moises (Lorena) Godina, Adolfo (Martha) Godina, Pablo H. (Gloria) Godina, Emma (Lauro) Alcala, Magdalena (Juan C.) Alcala all, of Monmouth; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jose Jesus Godina.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home, Monmouth with a Rosary Service beginning at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
