Jose Herrera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Funeral Home - El Reno on Feb. 4, 2026.
Jose Herrera, 57, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born on February 24, 1968, in Reynosa, Mexico, to Narciso Herrera and Juana Martinez Herrera.

Jose was a devoted husband, father, and family man who loved the outdoors, especially cooking and grilling. He cherished time spent with his wife, Dusti, his sons Cody and Dakota, and their dogs. Known for his playful teasing and warm sense of humor, Jose brought laughter wherever he went.

A self-taught mechanic, he enjoyed working on vehicles and spent his career in the oilfield and as a truck driver. He participated in ROTC during high school in Edinburg, Texas, and was a devoted Christian who loved Christ.

Jose is survived by his wife, Dusti Herrera; his sons, Cody and Dakota Herrera; his mother, Juana Martinez Herrera; his sister Mary; his brothers Joe and Mike; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Narciso Herrera, and his sister Mary.

Jose,

To a man of strong Christian values, one that always put his family first..

A husband, a father, that loved the Lord for everything Christ is worth.

I remember the day we met, the moments that kept me happy each day,

Hiking and finding new adventures along the way- I miss you, Jose

When we became husband and wife,

It was then I started my magnificent life,

With the man I'd love forever, you made me feel wanted and loved in return,

I'll miss your daily calls to check on me, and all the new things we did and learned.

You are my BUG, the man that I admired daily,

because of all the love you gave to me,

I found a greater love in you, and no other love will do..

For me, it's always been YOU.

Every moment you would smile, would take my breath away,

there's so many things I truly loved about you Jose'

And I'll miss all those things, and our lazy days at the lake,

Us laying on our blanket listening to all the sounds nature would make.

I thank God for you, Jose, my, husband, my BUG, my friend…

In my heart I'll hold your memory, until the day we are together again.

Forever Yours,

Your Wife, Dusti
