Jose Jimenez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - West Military Dr. on Dec. 23, 2025.
Joe M Jimenez Jr. affectionately known to all as Joe or Joey, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on November 18, 1949, in Weslaco, Texas. Joe was a beacon of light and a source of wisdom to everyone who knew him.
Joe was predeceased by his loving parents, Jose M Jimenez and Hortencia M Jimenez, as well as his dear sister, Diana "Dee" Macias. His legacy continues through his cherished son, Christian Jimenez, and his siblings Lydia, Alfredo, and Elizabeth. He was a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A proud graduate of Bexar County Hospital Radiology School and the Scott & White Nuclear Medicine Program in Waco, Joey dedicated over four decades of his life to the medical field. He retired as the respected Supervisor of the Nuclear Med. Department at the VA hospital in San Antonio. His commitment to healthcare extended to his part-time work at Methodist Hospital. Throughout his career, Joe was recognized with numerous awards and commendations, a testament to his professionalism and dedication.
Joey's faith was integral to his life. As a devout Christian, he lived by the principles of love and service, which were evident in his interactions with everyone around him. His selfless nature was a true embodiment of the well-known quote by Winston Churchill, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
A man of many interests, Joe spent his free time creating precious memories with his family and friends. He was an exceptional dancer, often the life of the party, and his love for dancing brought joy to many gatherings. A lifelong and loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, Joey would spend Sundays immersed in the excitement of NFL games, surrounded by loved ones and friends. His passion for deep sea fishing, inherited from times spent with his father and friends, was another facet of his adventurous spirit.
Joe was the epitome of a loving, wise, and selfless individual. He was a wonderful son, brother and father. His guidance was sought after by many, and his willingness to lend an ear or a helping hand knew no bounds. His absence will be profoundly felt, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Joe's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on the world. As we remember Joe, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Joe M Jimenez. Your journey was one of purpose and compassion, and your story will continue to inspire us all.
