It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Ruben Martinez, Jr., affectionately known as "BD" or "Little Ruben", who departed this life on October 20, 2025, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 46. Born March 16, 1979, in Dallas, he was a beloved father, brother, son, uncle and cousin.

He loved deeply and wholeheartedly and his devotion to his family was unwavering. His heart was generous, his presence uplifting and his legacy enduring. He was an avid Texas sports fan who cheered for his Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Trinidad and Aurora Tijerina and Maria and Andres Martinez Sr.

He is survived by his children, Ruben (PeeWee) Almanza and Marcus Martinez, mother, Rosie Martinez and father and stepmother Jose Ruben Martinez Sr. and Rose Martinez. Siblings Jesse Martinez (Stella), Diane Mendoza, John Martinez (Maggie), Linda Kelley (Jibran), Michael Martinez (Tracy) and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to honor his memory during a visitation on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 4:30 PM with a recitation of Holy Rosary at 4:30 PM at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, 4830 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211.

A funeral service will be held at the same location on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
