Jose Montalvo Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Montalvo, who departed this life on August 13, 2025 at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family. Born in a small town called Jose Maria Pino Suarez, Za. Mexico, on March 19, 1948, Jose was a man of deep strength, quiet determination, and unwavering love for his family.

Jose made the courageous journey from Mexico to the United States as a young man. Though the path was not always easy, he met every challenge with hard work, humility, and faith.

Jose dedicated his life to providing for his family. He was a man of many trades, working as a butcher, in construction and cabinetry to support his family. He had a great work ethic, never asking for recognition.

He was a man of strength and integrity, and a quiet leader in both his home and his community. Though he carried the weight of many responsibilities, he did so with grace and an ever-present sense of humor that brightened every room he entered.

Jose enjoyed wrestling; countless evenings watching Monday night RAW and Friday Night Smack Down with his sons and grandkids.

Every year, he looked forward to the rodeo, a cherished tradition that he and his daughter would attend every year. The rodeo connected him to his childhood in Mexico. Growing up on a ranch in Mexico, he cared for cows and other animals on his ranch. Jose enjoyed watching baseball games, especially the Houston Astros, as he played when he was younger. He enjoyed watching the Spurs. Jose was very adventurous, never turning down a road trip. Occasionally, he would "sneak in" a drink with his children. Jose would spend his leisure time gardening at his home. He would care for his plants and chile plants and ensured the dogs did not get into his garden.

Jose is survived by Maria Montalvo, his beloved wife of over 52 years; his children, Jose Montalvo (Anita), Mario "El Prieto" Montalvo, Tony Montalvo (Natalie), Sonia Abrego (Hector) and Wally Montalvo, Roland Montalvo (Rebecca); and his grandchildren: Vince, Nicholas, Ariana, Adrian, Aubree and Sofia. They were the light of his life. He is also remembered by extended family, friends, neighbors and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and love.
