Jose Luis Prado 71, passed away on August 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Nicolas Prado and his mother, Sara Garcia Prado. Jose graduated from H M King High School and Texas A&I University (Kingsville).
Jose retired from Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg after over 45 years of service. He knew no stranger. He enjoyed talking to the staff, nurses, doctors and anyone who needed assistance.
Jose leaves behind his wife, Cindy Cuellar of 30 years who he shared a once-in-a-lifetime relationship, with a bond that surpasses death. He will be greatly missed by his 3 siblings: Norma Haper, Carmela Quintanilla (Enrique), and Nicolas Prado, Jr. (Norma).
His nieces and nephews include: Abran, Jared, Bianca, Estevan, Jr., Hannah, Angelita and Sofia. Great nieces and nephews include: Beckham, Sadie, Shephard, Charlotte and Caleb.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Chapel. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
We know we could not have him forever and so we say, HASTA LUEGO to a most loved and wonderful gentle man.
