Kingsville - Roque R. Loera, 95, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in his home with two of his daughters by his side.

He was born on November 6, 1929, in Kingsville to Jose and Rita Loera. Roque started his career in the grocery store business as a young boy working at Mundo's Grocery Store before moving on to various other local grocery stores; eventually starting his career with H.E.B. He worked at H.E.B. for over 25 years as a dedicated butcher and an H.E.B. Partner. He was a lifetime member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.

According to the St. Martin's Knights of Columbus Council 2623, Senior Knight Roque Loera, 4th Degree, was an honorary member with 66 years of service. His 1st Degree was recorded on April 1, 1959. He was the local council's oldest senior member based on years of service. Vivat Jesus!

Roque honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nilda G. Loera; his brother, Jose Loera; and sisters, Oralia Loera Perez, Maria Magdalena Loera, and Dalia Loera Ramos.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cecilia Loera (James) Stringer of Kingsville, Rita Loera Soto of Corpus Christi, and Lisa Loera of Kingsville; grandsons, John Daniel Soto of Corpus Christi and Bryan James (Brianna) Loera Stringer of Georgetown; his sister, Rosa Elia Salazar of Kingsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Octavio J. Rodriquez II, the Kingsville Hospice Staff, Palm Valley Primary Home Care, Inc. and providers Lee Ann Pereida and Janie Guajardo for their care and compassion of our beloved dad. You have all been a blessing to our family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, for immediate family members from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and for public viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Roque and his brother Joe were very close friends. We were 4th Degree Knights. I'm still a 4th Degree Knight. May GOD have Mercy and have Roque resting until Jesus comes back.
