Jose Ruben Rodriguez, 71, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on July 21, 2022. Jose was born July 1, 1951 in LaPlaya De Ponce, PR to
Cruz Hernandez and Armando Rodriguez and studied at Juan Serralles and Ponce High School.
In May of 1986, Jose moved himself and his family to the United States in hopes of providing his family with a better life. Over the
years, Ruben was employed performing several different jobs including, truck driving, gardening, and machine work. He was also a skilled
mechanic and that was his occupation at the time of his death.
Jose was catholic with a kind and giving heart. It was his kind heart that motivated him to love, help, and share whatever he could with
others and was known by many in his life as a good neighbor. He loved music very much but his favorite was Salsa and was often seen
listening to Salsa whenever he could.
Jose was predeceased by his parents, Cruz and Armando, as well as two of his sisters, Carmen Luisa and Aurea and two brothers, Mario and
Francisco (Chicky).
Jose had 12 siblings total and is survived by a large, loving family including his daughters Daisy Y. Aviles and Cruz Y. Rodriguez and his
son, Jose Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his brothers, Luis A. & Juan C. Rodriguez and sisters, Carmen M. Rodriguez, Maria M.
Rodriguez, Martha L. Rodriguez, Wanda Rodriguez and Carmen Quirindongo as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Two of which
are on the way and sadly will never get to meet their great grandfather, who already loved them deeply. Besides his siblings and
children, he also leaves a large group of nieces, nephews and friends that loved him and will miss him dearly.
