La misa funeral de José Rodríguez, de 59 años y residente de Athens, está programada para las 14:00 h del jueves 23 de octubre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San Eduardo (SEEM), oficiada por el Padre Michael Ledesma. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio de Athens, a cargo de la familia de la Funeraria Hannigan Smith.
El Sr. Rodríguez falleció el 14 de octubre de 2025 en Eustace.
José Concepción Rodríguez Bárcenas nació el 8 de diciembre de 1965 en Tepehuajes, General Heliodoro Castillo, Guerrero, México, hijo de Eustorgio Rodríguez Torres y Amanda Bárcenas González. Asistió a la Iglesia Católica de San Eduardo y trabajó en la construcción durante muchos años. A Bigotes le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos, y todos quienes lo conocieron y amaron lo extrañarán.
Le precedieron en la muerte su hermano, Simón Rodríguez, y su cuñada, Elvira Figueroa.
Le sobreviven su esposa, Celsa Figueroa Téllez de Atenas; sus padres, Eustorgio y Amanda Rodríguez Torres de Tepehuajes, México; sus hijos, Araceli Rodríguez de Tepehuajes, México, Beatriz Rodríguez y su esposo José Guerra de Tepehuajes, México, y Yesenia Rodríguez de Atenas; sus hermanos, Tomasa Rodríguez y Florentino Figueroa, Olivia Hurtado, Esteban Rodríguez, Arturo Rodríguez y Magaly Nava, José Antonio Rodríguez y Maribel Arias, Maribel Rodríguez y Alberto Reyes; sus nietos, José Ibarra, Lorena Ibarra, Eduardo Ibarra, Jovanny Reyes, Angel Reyes, Juan Reyes, Jr., César Núñez y Omar Hernández Rodríguez; y un bisnieto, Elías Jorge Razo.
Como portadores del féretro estarán José Ibarra, Eduardo Ibarra, Bernardo Figueroa, Arturo Rodríguez, David Rodríguez, Margarito Figueroa, Rafael Figueroa y Carlos Figueroa.
El velatorio se llevará a cabo el miércoles 22 de octubre de 2025, de 17:00 a 19:00 h, en la Funeraria Hannigan Smith, y el rosario comenzará a las 19:00 h.
Los servicios funerarios estuvieron a cargo de la familia de la Funeraria Hannigan Smith.
A Funeral Mass for Jose Rodriguez, 59, of Athens, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at St. Edward's Catholic Church SEEM with Father Michael Ledesma officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
Mr. Rodriguez passed away on October 14, 2025, in Eustace.
Jose Concepcion Rodriguez Barcenas was born on December 8, 1965, in Tepehuajes, General Heliodoro Castillo, Guerrero, Mexico, the son of Eustorgio Rodriguez Torres and Amanda Barcenas Gonzalez. He attended St. Edward's Catholic Church and worked in construction of many years. Bigotes loved spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Simon Rodriguez, and by his sister-in-law, Elvira Figueroa.
Survivors include his wife, Celsa Figueroa Tellez of Athens; his parents, Eustorgio and Amanda Rodriguez Torres of Tepehuajes, Mexico; his children, Araceli Rodriguez of Tepehuajes, Mexico, Beatriz Rodriguez and husband Jose Guerra of Tepehuajes, Mexico, and Yesenia Rodriguez of Athens; his siblings, Tomasa Rodriguez and Florentino Figueroa, Olivia Hurtado, Esteban Rodriguez, Arturo Rodriguez and Magaly Nava, Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Maribel Arias, Maribel Rodriguez, and Alberto Reyes; his grandchildren, Jose Ibarra, Lorena Ibarra, Eduardo Ibarra, Jovanny Reyes, Angel Reyes, Juan Reyes, Jr., Cesar Nuñez, and Omar Hernandez Rodriguez; and one great-grandchild, Elias Jorge Razo.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jose Ibarra, Eduardo Ibarra, Bernardo Figueroa, Arturo Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Margarito Figueroa, Rafael Figueroa, and Carlos Figueroa.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
