Lawrence "Larry" Lybrand

A celebration of the life of Larry Lybrand, 80, of Mabank, is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Life Fellowship with Pastor Mark Allen, Pastor David Jordan, and Pastor Jolene McCord officiating.

Mr. Lybrand passed away on October 4, 2025, in Temple.

Lawrence Ellis Lybrand was born on September 12, 1945, in Abilene, Texas, to Lawrence Ellis Lybrand and Edna Earl (Row) Triplett. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1963 and attended the police academy at Tarrant County College. Larry worked as a narcotics and explosive bomb technician both in Saudi Arabia and at DFW Airport. Together with his wife, Shirley, he established a jewelry business called Designs by Shirley, from which he later retired. Larry was a dedicated member of Life Fellowship and cherished his friends in the Lybrand Life Group. He also enjoyed his ministry work with Heart of Forgiveness Ministry, fishing, and capturing sunset photographs during his free time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lybrand; his children, Stephanie Smith and husband Gene; his grandson, Lance Orso and wife Yvette; his granddaughter, Allison Smith; his great-grandchildren, Abby Comer, Ava Stubbs, Pierce Stubbs, and Vita Orso; and his beloved dogs, Versace and Louis Vuitton, who were his pride and joy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Forgiveness Ministry.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
