Jose Ronelle Sampang Sagisi, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on February 21, 1967, in Manila, Philippines to Zoilo and Norma Sagisi. He moved to Chicago when he was three and settled with his family in Hawthorn Woods, IL.
Ronelle’s journey through life was characterized by love, passion, and dedication. He was a man of many talents and virtues, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ronelle’s presence brought joy and warmth to those around him, and his kind heart touched the lives of many.
Ronelle was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Virginia Sagisi, his grandparents Fidella and Jose Sampang, and his uncles Lewis Williams, Fred Sampang and Bill Kovsikovs. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his wonderful children, Samuel and Summer, his devoted parents, Zoilo and Norma Sagisi, his sister, Maricar, brother-in-law, Darryl Kowalewski, and his nephews, Jason Kowalewski and Guy Wulfing. Ronelle also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish his memory forever.
Ronelle and Mary were married on October 3, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, and enjoyed 26 beautiful years together. Their love was a shining example of commitment and partnership, inspiring all who knew them.
In his educational journey, Ronelle attended Rogers Elementary, Lane Tech High School, and DePaul University. Throughout his professional life, Ronelle excelled in various endeavors, including the Board of Trade, his own businesses in the restaurant industry, heating and cooling services, residential and commercial construction, and residential investments.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ronelle was a dedicated member of his community and church, faithfully attending St. Gregory in Chicago and St. Francis de Sales in Lake Zurich. His faith was a guiding light in his life, influencing his actions and relationships with compassion and kindness.
In his leisure time, Ronelle found joy in making his family happy, traveling with them, gardening, and cooking delicious meals for loved ones. His hobbies reflected his generous and caring nature, as he always put the happiness of others before his own.
Ronelle was known for his intelligence, generosity, and keen sense of humor. He was a good listener with an encyclopedic mind, and his conservative values were balanced by a deep interest in history and day trading.
The world has lost a remarkable soul, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Ronelle’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and dedication, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were privileged to know him. Rest in peace, Jose Ronelle Sagisi.
Visitation for Ronelle will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9 AM until prayers at 10 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ronelle's honor to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 135 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
