Jose Luis Sanchez

Jose Luis Granados Sanchez, 59, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025. He was born October 12, 1965 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Isabel Sanchez Bustos and Maria Granados Calzada-Sanchez.

Jose made many wonderful friends in the years since becoming a US citizen. His hobbies, besides fishing, always included some kind of work with his life partner Janie Rodriguez Hastings for 39 years. Together they enjoyed riding to different little country towns exploring all the beautiful scenery. Most of all they treasured raising their children and grandchildren.

Jose and Janie never met a stranger. They loved and accepted everyone that came into their home. After 2 months of living without his soulmate, Jose went on to be with her in heaven, together again, forever!

Jose is survived by his daughters Debra Dean Hardaway "Shelly", Cynthia Ann Mayberry "Ray", and Julie Ann Miller "Myron" all of Gonzales, sons, Joseph Anthony Hastings "Lillian" and Mark Anthony Hastings "Laura" all of Gonzales, sister-in-law, Carmen Gutierrez "Diego", brother-in-law, Richard Rodriguez, 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his life partner Janie Rodriguez Hastings, brothers-in-law, Emilio Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, and Luciano Rodriguez, Jr., sisters-in-law, Connie Rodriguez, Hope Sourbeck, Lupita Tijerna, and Esther DeLaCruz, grandchildren, Joseph Antony Hastings, Jr., Alexa Rae Henderson and Arthur Ray Henderson, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 9 am to 9:30 am Monday, September 22, 2025 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with a Holy rosary following at 9:30 am. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will follow at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mark Hastings II, Cleveland Webb Jr, Trevor Mayberry, Andy Ybarbo, Tyrann Webb, and Joe Larry Hastings. Honorary pallbearers include Aaron Hunt. Tyron Webb, Joshua Webb, Mark Hastings I, Joseph Hastings, Myron Miller, Shelly Hardaway, and Ray Mayberry.
