José Angel Vásquez

José Angel Vásquez was born on December 19, 1945 in Knott, Texas. Surrounded by his family and the support of his congregation, José fell asleep in death at the age of 79 on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
José dedicated his life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 15, 1972. He had the opportunity to be used by Jehovah in the capacity of a Congregation Elder and a Regular Pioneer. He also was asked to help in developing Spanish Congregations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Van Horn, Texas. José assisted in aiding many individuals to make a dedication to serve God. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and he treasured the time he spent with his loved ones, always ready with a joke or a listening ear.
José was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind his cherished family, including his wife of 43 years, Tomasa (Hernandez) Vásquez and children Ralph Ramirez, Patricia Peña and husband Rey, Rebecca Bozka and husband Bob, Elizabeth Glenn and husband Rudy, Rene Ramirez and wife Leah, Yvette Orozco and husband Martin, Yvonne Perez and husband Roland. He is also survived by grandchildren, Avery Ramirez, Aubry Ramirez, Lissette Hamed, Mia Betancourt, Joshua Bozka, Joseph Bozka, Philip Glenn, Justin Glenn, Renita Glenn, Erica Hill, Nicholas Ramirez, Ryan Ramirez, Gabriel Ramirez, Amadora Biscette, Anthony Vásquez, Aaron Ybarra and 6 great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Alejandrina Ortiz, Verna Magdaleno, Velva Myers, and his brothers, Johnny Vásquez, Frank Vásquez, and Luis Vásquez. José is preceded in death by his parents Adelfino Vásquez, Sr. and Adelaida Cavazos Vásquez. His brothers Adelfino Vásquez, Jr. and Henry Vásquez, and his sister, Rosa Mary Vásquez.
A memorial service will be held on June 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 890 FM 517 Road, Alvin, TX 77511.
