Jose H. Zuniga

Jose H. Zuniga, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison, at 10:00 a.m. His final disposition will follow the Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends and relatives may visit the family on Friday, November 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday morning after 8:30 a.m.

Born in Lima, Peru, Jose was raised in the district of Lince before moving to Harrison in 1976. Upon settling in Harrison, he worked as an electrician. He was a devoted member of the Señor de los Milagros association and served as a carrier for the Iglesia Las Nazarenas. While in Peru, he proudly served his country in the Marina de Guerra del Perú (Peruvian Navy).

Jose is survived by his beloved children, Jose E. Zuniga and his wife, Kathy Araujo, and Maria D. Martinez. He leaves behind nine loving grandchildren: Christine and Pedro Martinez; Joseph, Chrystian and his wife Andrea, Erick, and Gennesie Zuniga; Allison and Khasieee Marquez. He is also cherished by nine great-grandchildren: Isabelle and Leonardo Martinez; Elliot, Deangelo, Aryanna V., Alivia, and Ashton Zuniga; Christian Mena; and Thiago Marquez. Jose is also survived by his dear siblings: Julia, Salome, Julio, and Rosa Zuniga.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mauricia Iraida Landa Alegre viuda de Zuniga, and Julio Zuniga Rodriguez; his siblings Ernesto, Luisa, and Alejandro Zuniga; and his great-grandson Lorenzo Martínez.
