Arcadio Chavez Zuniga
November 11, 1953 – November 15, 2025

Funeral service for Arcadio Chavez Zuniga, 72, of Childress, Texas, formerly of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Gustavo "Gus" Gaytan officiating.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2025, in Childress, Texas. Arcadio was known for his joyful spirit, warm smile, and ability to bring laughter wherever he went. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and it was said often that he never met a stranger.

In his younger years, Arcadio loved playing softball and later found joy on the golf course. He worked as a butcher for most of his life and took great pride in his craft. Outside of work, he was happiest behind a grill cooking for the friends and family he cherished so dearly.

In his later years, Arcadio walked closely in faith, finding comfort and strength in God. Those who loved him find peace in knowing he now walks with Jesus.

Was proceeded in death by: His Mother-Emna Chavez Zuniga, Father-Jose Ruiz Zuniga and his Sister Loretta Gayton

Arcadio is survived by his four children:
• Arcadio Joe Zuniga and his wife Shaina Mesa
• Tanner Arcadio Zuniga
• Christa Zuniga and her wife April Zuniga
• Sarah Votaw

Also, his siblings: Sisters: Amelia Sanchez, Gloria Hicks, Ramona Ibarra, Josephine Castaneda, and Maggie Bowers
Brothers: Joe Zuniga, Cecil Zuniga, and Ventura Zuniga

He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren: Oakley Zuniga, Tyler Zuniga, Angeli Schrick, Jenna Spradlin, Kayden Votaw, Kashton Patterson, Karson Patterson, Christopher Zuniga, Josh Veld, Liam Zuniga, Audie Zuniga, Legend Zuniga, and Zyan Zuniga.

Arcadio leaves behind 3 great-grandchildren: Jay Holt, Kamrie Votaw, and Violet Spradlin.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
