Nancy Joyce Legg, age 83, of Tipton, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, Oklahoma. No formal services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick, Oklahoma.

Nancy Joyce Legg was born December 30, 1941, in Cass City, Michigan, to Sherwood and Joyce (Radcliffe) Heineman. She attended public school in Kingston, Michigan, where she graduated in 1960. She was united in marriage to Don Legg on May 19, 1967.

Nancy worked beside her father at his clothing store in Kingston, Michigan, growing up. She then worked as a typesetter for the town newspaper. In 1978, they bought a convenience store in Caro, Michigan. After moving to Austin, Texas, in 1981, she worked at Bookstop. Don and Nancy started in the grocery business in Macks Creek, Missouri, where they owned and operated Legg's Grocery and Feed. After moving to Tipton, Oklahoma, they purchased the local grocery store, and it became known as Legg's Grocery.

She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Nancy loved to spend her free time reading biographies, mysteries, romances, and westerns. Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tipton.

She is survived by her four children: Jim Cummings of Esom Hill, Georgia, Cheryl Luckett of Tipton, Oklahoma, Dawn Legg-Asher of Virginia, and Chris Legg and his wife Deborah of Marshfield, Missouri; one sister: Sandy Sain and husband Roger of Portland, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Sherwood and Joyce Heineman; her husband: Don A Legg; one daughter: Deborah (Cummings) Proctor; one grandson: Cody Cummings; and one brother: Augustus "Uncle Gus" Heineman.

Memorial contributions for the family may be made at Jackson Funeral Home, 921 West Gladstone Avenue, P.O. Box 1068, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Nancy Legg.
