Josefa Cruz Obituary
Josefa was born to Encarnacion & Virginia Almaraz on July 31, 1941 in Brownsville, Texas. She went to be with the Lord, December 19, 2025, in Damon, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 65 years.
She leaves behind two children, Virginia Cruz Morris and spouse Charles, Juan Antonio Cruz and spouse Michelle. She had 11 grandchildren: Valarie Veit, Haley Miller, Lacy Cruz Tejada, Anthony Cruz, Jacob Puente, Toby Morris, Tommy Morris, Cody Morris, Austin Oldham and Analisa Oldham; 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 brothers; Encarnacion Almaraz, Jr, Epitacio Almaraz, Raul Almaraz, Antonio Alamaraz and 1 sister; Maria Morales and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was a registered nurse and cared for many people throughout her career working for Dr. Knolle, Fort Bend County Jail and Damon ISD to name a few.
Heaven gained an angel along with pieces of all our hearts. We know the heavens are rejoicing because you are there and you will continue to watch over us with all your love.
