Josefa "Fefa" Santos
Josefa passed away peacefully on July 15th, 2024, just the way she loved to live, surrounded by family, love, fun, and laughter. She was born in Puerto Rico on December 15, 1945, to parents Jose and Ramona Rodriguez, and the youngest of 14 siblings. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cook.
Josefa loved to cook, fish, and host many family gatherings and listen to her favorite music; bachata and merengue. She touched the hearts and lives of so many with her small acts of kindness.
Josefa was smart and witty, but truly had the softest heart. She taught her family the true meaning of what it felt to be loved. She would not let anyone go without, if she could help it. Anyone who entered her door became part of her family.
She will be remembered and missed by her children Marta Melendez, Rafael Melendez, Efrain Santos and his wife Maribel Santos, Alberto Santos, Juan Santos and his wife Christina Santos, Maria Melendez, Tyrone Rivera, and Yasiel Santos, whom she raised, along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by her surviving siblings.
Special Thank You to Karissa and Nate Fennimore for ensuring Josefa's last days on this earth were as comfortable and as peaceful as possible. A special Thank You to Ana Diaz for the care she provided to Josefa throughout her last years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a funeral service from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT. To leave on-line condolences, please visit www.holmeswatkins.com
