In Loving Memory of Josefina Meza Barraza July 13, 1956 - May 16, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Josefina Meza Barraza; a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on May 16, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She was 68 years old and is preceded in death by both her parents and brother Santiago Barraza Ruiz.
Born in La Granja, Durango, Mexico to parents Juana Ruiz Monarrez and Ramon Barraza Delgado, she carried with her the warmth and strength of her roots.
Josefina is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel Meza Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion within their 41 years of marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Claribel Meza (Pedro Apodaca) and Luis Meza (Vanessa), who will forever carry her values, love, and spirit in their hearts. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her grandchildren Isaiah, Danielle, Meagan, Marcus, Pedro Jr., Valentin, and Francisco. Her grandchildren were her joy, gifting them with unconditional love, laughter, and the kind of memories that will last a lifetime.
Josefina's love extended far beyond her immediate family. She is also survived by her siblings Manuel Barraza (Pety), Leobardo Barraza (Luz Maria), Elpidio Barraza (Miriam), Juan Barraza (Flor), and Germana Barraza (Francisco Gutierrez), following a family of nieces, nephews, and cousins- each of whom also felt her unconditional love.
She was a woman of great strength and deep faith. Josefina gave freely of herself without ever asking for anything in return. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, regardless of how long she had known you. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and grace. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and her unwavering devotion will never be forgotten.
Funeral Mass honoring Josefina's life will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas. Her family welcomes all who knew and loved her, to join in honoring the beautiful life she lived.
Rest in eternal peace, Josefina Meza Barraza. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed beyond measure by many. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Josefina, please visit our floral store.

We are so sorry for your loss and will sorely miss Fina. She was a pleasure to be around, cheerful, positive, and always seeing the good in others. Emilia still misses the morning walks they used to have and gratefully holds the many fond memories they shared. We will keep her in our hearts and you in our thoughts.
