Joe was my father in law. I´ll always remember him saying nice things to me, like that I was sweet and his smile was worth a million words.
He took us for long beautiful boat rides. I love to see him at the wheel, in my mind, smiling like the captain of life that he always was and forever will stay in my memory!

Not to diminish his high intelligence, never-ending energy, love of his dogs, pride in caring for his boat, and keeping the yard in perfect condition, it seems as if Joe's greatest accomplishment was marrying his sweetheart, Jennie. He always looked at her with pride and love in having her as his wife. They built a family of enduring love and companionship with their children and grandchildren.
Gene and I will never forget our one-of-a-kind friend.
Bon voyage, Joe--From Sandy Jacobs

No one we know more proudly wore the Williams College purple colors. It seemed that Joe had an entire wardrobe of Williams clothing. Since Hurricane Ian hit Boca Grande we have missed seeing Joe and Jennie on 18th Street in Boca Grande with their beloved dog. Sixty five years of marriage is an accomplishment we admire. We miss having Joe next door to tell us everything we needed to know on Boca Grande.
With sympathy,
