Joseph Keoni Andrews, born March 9, 1980, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 45, in the hospital at Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Joseph was the heart and soul of his mom Wanda, known for his compassion and a unique ability to brighten even the gloomiest days.
Joseph lived in Navarre, Florida where he loved the beach. He enjoyed his walks on the beach where he found peace. Joey often met strangers and enjoyed talking with them. Discussions led to asking him where he was from, proudly he would say I am a "Pacific Islander" and I dream of returning to Honolulu, Hawaii where I was born.
Joseph did struggle for some years but fought bravely, "strove for a life of sobriety." A person who genuinely loved others and desired to be loved as well. Someone who saw the beauty and all the good this life had to offer, even while struggling within its depths of darkness.
He fought all the way to the end, never surrendering or giving up. He remained hopeful that he could still win his battle against alcoholism until it finally decided to quickly steal his life away earlier than he ever wanted.
Joseph is survived by his mother Wanda Andrews Sanguyo, his stepfather Dennis Sanguyo, his daughter Hayley Thoma and brother Tony Curry, nephew Andrew Curry. Joseph deeply loved his Aunt Beth, Uncle Stan, Aunt Rhonda, and his cousins Matthew, Brandon and Nikki.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jimmy and Faye Andrews. Great grandmother Granny Andrews and Aunt Teresa Andrews.
Joseph your battle is over. You are finally free."
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
