Joseph Balshone Obituary

Published by Daily Progress on Mar. 26, 2008.
Joseph Garth Balshone "Joe", 51, died earlier this month of natural causes at his residence on Stone Oak Lane, Charlottesville.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, he resided in Charlottesville for the past five years. Joe was a "gentle giant"-big in stature and equally big of heart to all who knew him. He grew to love this area of our country and thoroughly enjoyed his life here.

His remains were interred in a family plot in Columbus, Ohio on March 26, 2008.

Survivors include his two sisters, Lynn B. Jacobs, of Toledo, Ohio, and Cathy Balshone-Becze , of Sudbury MA.

They would appreciate hearing from any of his Virginia acquaintances, c/o Frank D. Jacobs, Esq., c/o Eastman and Smith Ltd., P.O. Box 10032, Toledo, Ohio 43699.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 555 Childrens Drive West, Columbus, Ohio 43205.

Arrangements by THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, #614-2353232.

Godspeed Balshone. You always made me smile and were a pleasure to work with. I still miss your eccentric banter and wit. Thanks for everything my friend. Until we meet again.

I offer my belated condolences. I just learned of Joe's passing. I was fortunate to know Joe for many years and considered him one of my friends. He was a good man and a good friend. When my sister-in-law passed away several years ago Joe was one of the people who came from out of town to be there for my brother. I will truly miss my friend!

Our Sympathy to Joe's Family. Joe had the brightist smile and the easiest going personality. Joe was a customer of our business (Woodbrook Sports) and was always a great pleasure to work with, he always had a smile on his face. We will miss him, we are so sorry for your loss.
