Joseph E. "Joe" Barnes

Joseph Edward Barnes, age 65, passed away at his home on Friday, November 3 2023. Joe was born on October 10, 1958 in Sheboygan to Robert and Darlene (Tackes) Barnes. He served our country in the US Army from 1976 to 1978. Joe met the love of his life, Debra Koss and they were married on July 6, 1996, in Cedar Grove. Throughout his life he lived in Wisconsin, Colorado and Hawaii. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Joe liked to sit in the garage watching T.V. with his kids, Dog and Bella. He also enjoyed hunting, bon fires, tinkering, gardening, carpentry and watching Judge Judy and Law and Order. Joe worked at Martels for 21 years as a concrete finisher.
Joe is survived by his mother, Darlene Barnes; brother, Ronald Barnes; sisters, Sandy (Kurt) Ader, Laura (Todd) Koepsell and Chrissy (Shannon) Perl; children, Brad Dorschner (fiancée, Heather Turrubiates), Sheri Young, and Julie Merryfield; daughter-in-law, Amber (Craig Berkholtz) Dorschner; grandchildren, Sabrina, Lucian, Jacob, Devin, Natasha, Austin, and Alexis; nieces and nephews, Haileigh, Alex and Kristofer Ader, Ben, Adam and Brooke Koepsell and Cassidy and Remington Perl.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Debra; his father, Robert Barnes; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Ilma Barnes and maternal grandparents, Edward and Leona Tackes.
The Funeral Service for Joe will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Full military honors to follow the service.
