Joseph H. Beavers

BEAVERS, Joseph H.- of Montrose, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at home with family by his side. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Joe was born March 2, 1940, in Cedar Bluff, Virginia to the late John Henry and Leona (Sparks) Beavers. He served in the Army National Guard for 17 years. Joe was a hard worker all his life with an impeccable work ethic. He owned Great Giant Supermarket in Flint for many years. Joe loved connecting with his customers and the community. He had a way of making a lasting impression on everyone he met. Joe was a member of The Lions Club and served on the board of The Salvation Army of Genesee County for several years. He was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and enjoyed watching Under the Radar Michigan. Some of his favorite activities were camping, fishing, and many trips with family to Florida and Ipperwash Beach in Canada.
Surviving are: Loving wife of 66 years, Billie Sue Beavers; Son, Anthony "Tony" (Tami) Beavers; Daughter, Tracey Beavers; Daughter-in-law, Debra Beavers; Grandchildren: Anthony "Tony" (Kim) Beavers, Jamie (Corey) Rush, Kimberly (Joe) Hemgesberg, William "Hank" Beavers, Megan Beavers, Adam Beavers, Kelli Beavers (Sam Lowe); 9 great grandchildren; many other loving family members, and dear friends. Joe was also preceded in death by son, Terry Beavers; brothers, Raymond Beavers and John Beavers, and sister, Willa Mae Warren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to McLaren Hospice for all their love, compassion, and wonderful care.
