Joseph P. Belsito, Jr., 67 of Worcester passed away surrounded by loved ones, Friday, August 18, 2023, after a period of declining health.
Joe was born in Worcester, one of seven children of Joseph P. "Joe Balls" Belsito, Sr., and Anne (Martellotta) Belsito. He grew up on Natick Street, graduated from Worcester vocational high school class of 1974. Joe then joined the U.S. Army serving his country during the final days of the Vietnam Conflict. Joe worked for several companies including as Berkshire armored car driver for Mass Transport Inc, Former manager at legal sea foods, former head chef at Norton company executive dining room.
Joe is survived by his four children, Joseph P. Belsito, III, Gabrielle Belsito and her partner, Lee Fawe with whom he lived, Leah Belsito and Luke Belsito all of Worcester; a brother, Anthony C. Belsito of Richland, WA; and sister, Gina M. Belsito-Bottomley, and her husband William all of Worcester; four grandchildren, including Lee Jr. and Amelia; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Salvatore "Sal", Michael and John Belsito and a sister, Maria Bottomley predeceased him.
Joe was a great Dad and grandfather; his most precious moments were them spent with them. He loved the beach and was devoted to caring for his challenged son, Luke. He will be missed for his huge heart, and bright smile.
A period of calling hours will be held Friday, August 25th from 9:30 am to 11 am followed by a prayer service in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be in St John Cemetery.
