Joseph D. Benoit, was born June 18, 1929, to Gilbert and Edolia Benoit. He passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by his family, on June 4, 2025.
He was married to the love of his life, Lola Grant Benoit for 74 years. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 35 years of service. He enjoyed riding horses, gardening, barbequing, playing fast pitch softball in his younger days, and just spending time outdoors. He was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church.
Joseph is survived by his children, Randy, Dahlia Allen (Sidney), and Faith Benoit Martin (Teddy); his four grandsons, Greg Cowan (Jolie), Korey Cowan (Stephanie), Clifton Bullock, and Lea Benoit (Libby); his five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey, Hayden, Alicia, and Cole; and his three great-great-grandchildren, Kenzleigh, Kiyah and Berkeley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Edolia Benoit; his wife, Lola Grant Benoit; his three sisters, Norma, Irene, and Iris, and his brother, Numa.
Pallbearers will be Greg Cowan, Korey Cowan, Clifton Bullock, Lea Benoit, Hunter Bullock, and Hayden Bullock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sidney Allen and Teddy Martin.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge, on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
