It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Bongiovanni, age 71, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. His children were by his side when he passed.
Joe leaves behind his children Charles and Annamarie. Additionally, in his words, his favorite son-in-law Nathan and favorite daughter-in-law Rachel.
He was Papa Joe to his grandchildren Annabella, Jennifer, Joseph, and Aisla.
He was known as Joey to his younger siblings, Steven, Felicia, Antonina, and Christina (Mike) ; Uncle Joe to John, Charles, Marissa, Maria, Michael, Gianna.
Beyond his family, Joe was a friend to many, including his best friend Kelly Cisneros (Dave) of Denver, CO and Ricky Moran (Sammy) of Brush, CO.
Joe was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to Charles & Marie Bongiovanni (who he preceded in death). After graduating in 1971 from McDowell High School, Joe's parents decided to move the family to Westminster, Colorado. In 1973, they opened Bongiovanni's Italian Restaurant where Joe began his adventure in Colorado. Being the personable man he was and the ease of talking with people and making fast friends, he went on to a career in sales which eventually led him to his home in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Anyone who met Joe would become a lifelong friend as that was the impression he left on so many. Joe eventually retired from Cargill in 2014 and would continue to spend the majority of his time with his children and grandchildren. Joe loved to spend time with his family. He always enjoyed watching the Rockies baseball games at Coors Field as Joe loved watching any sports as well as spending quality time with all of his beautiful grandchildren.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., Rosary will take place at 10:30 a.m.
Immaculate Heart of Mary: 11385 Grant Dr Northglenn, CO 80233
