Joseph John Botta Sr.

Joseph John Botta, Sr., of Lodi, formerly of North Bergen, passed away on December 17, 2025. Joseph was a Korean War Veteran, a member of VFW Post 5082, the American Legion Post 136. Before retiring he was a member of IU of OE Local 68 in Fairfield. Joe was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church in Lodi. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Botta. Devoted father of Mary Ellen Pirozzolo and her late husband Steve, Joseph John Botta, Jr. and wife Diane, RoseAnn Brummer and husband Steve, and the late Margaret Jeannette. Loving grandfather of the late Steven Pirozzolo, Jr., Joseph John Botta, III and wife LauraBeth, Joseph Eric Zajicek and wife Nicole, and Arielle Gagliardi and husband Anthony. Cherished great-grandfather of Stefanie Shaw, Alyson Miller, Steven D. Pirozzolo, Jaxson Zajicek, Logan Zajicek, Kadence Pirozzolo, Stephen Gagliardi, Siena Gagliardi and great-great-grandfather of Gianna. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday December 24, 2025, 9:00 am at Di Chiara Funeral Home, 300 Main St., Lodi for a 9:30 am Chapel Service. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visitation Tuesday December 23, 2025, 2:00pm- 6:00pm.
