Dr. Michael F. Botta

Dr. Michael Francis Botta, 70 of Plum passed away on Saturday February 24, 2024.
He felt himself fortunate enough to have two careers which he loved. He began his career as a Federal Agent from 1983 to 2003. He then began teaching at Point Park University and was Chair of Intelligence and National Security and Criminology and retired in 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Lynn (Dreibhold) Botta, children Melissa (Alex) Havran and Kimberly Botta, grandchildren Ava Humphrey, Michael Havran, and Jules Jalili, siblings Melanie (Milan) Franceschi, Mary Jo Pettengill, and Suzanne Botta, nieces Rebecca Jost, Erica Franceschi, and Margi Franceschi. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Francis Botta.
Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday February 27, 2024, from 2 - 9 p.m. including a blessing service at 8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. Private interment at Plum Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
