Joseph L. Brewton, of Milton, Florida, gained his angel wings on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in Pensacola, Florida to Dollie Barlow and Joseph L. Brewton, Sr. on May 30, 1941. He was a dairy man at Bassetts Dairy in Monticello, Florida for a long period of time, plus a few other dairies -which in his words (he always told everyone) he was a "Natural born titty puller." He was hardworking, loving but stern, a caring husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother, and son. He loved our mom, Mary K Brewton, which he will meet in Heaven. He loved all of his family more than anything. Our daddy will always be remembered and missed.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary K. Brewton; daughters, Bobbie Joyner and Juanita Paxton; son-in-law, Terry Paxton; grandsons, Virgil Joyner, Jr. and Timothy "Boog" Purkey; and great-great granddaughter, Lillian.
He is survived by his children, Theresa (Travis) Martin of Milton, Florida, Joann (Dalton) Vaugh of Monticello, Florida, Mary Jo Martin, of Crestview, Florida; and his "one and only" son, Joseph L. Brewton III, also known as "Bubba", of Wacissa, Florida; son-in-law, Virgil Joyner, Sr.; 30 grandkids; 54 great grandkids; 15 great-great grandkids; 3 great-great-great grandkids on the way; brother, Donald (Rhonda) Brewton; sisters, Kathy (John, Sr.) English and Sheila (Mark) Weed; sister-in-law's, Eva (Robbie) Lansdon and Lois Lindt; brother-in-law, Daniel "Speedy" Green; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thank you, Dr. Elder and crew, Dr. Angelo, and Santa Rosa Health and Rehab for all you did for our dad. Thank you to our Pastor Paul Raught and our church.
