Joseph Bryant Obituary
Joseph Edward "Hamp" Bryant was born on March 11, 1960, to the late J.B. Bryant and Hattie P. Bryant. He was a proud graduate of Burkeville High School, Class of 1978. At an early age, he joined Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the late Rev. M.C. Boatner.
Joseph honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Marines on September 1, 1982. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication throughout his life. He worked as a Foreman at Wiergate Lumber Mill and also served his community as a school bus driver, touching many lives through both his service and his kindness.
In 1984, Joseph married the love of his life, Annette Durffield-Bryant. From this union, the marriage yielded three children, and together they built a loving family and shared many years of devotion.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his strength, dependability, and the love he had for his family. His presence, guidance, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Bryant and Hattie P. Bryant; his son, Jonathon "Noonie" Bryant; his siblings, Walter Bryant and Geraldine Sells; and his in-laws, Everlyn Joy and George Durffield, Brenda Bryant, Patricia Bryant, Eddy Seale, Carl Samuel and Tom Bennett.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Annette Durffield-Bryant; his children: Red (Janelle) Bryant, Anna Bryant (U'Rel Taylor), and Jonathan (Shavania) Bryant; and his grandchildren: Treviauntae (Nyla) Parks, Asia Joseph, Brooks Bryant, Jordyn Bryant, Jacob Bryant, Jax Bryant, Peyton Bryant, Adrian champ Ashley, Legacy Ashley,Jaylon Bryant, Jasmine Bryant, Jonathan Jr Bryant,.Sierra Bryant
He is also survived by his siblings: Bevely Seale, Gwendolyn Samuel, Shareta Bennett, Lyndon Bryant, Jonathan Bryant (Lillie), Carolyn Phillips (Bruce), Kenneth Bryant, and Diana Birdlong (Calvin Sr.), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Joseph Edward "Hamp" Bryant will forever be remembered for his love for his family, his dedication to his work, his service to his country, and the impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is gone, his legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

During the summer of 1965, I had the privilege of teaching Joseph Bryant at the age of five in Head Start. He was smart and energetic. I knew he would be successful in all his endeavors. Please accept my expression of deep sorrow and sympathy for your loss.
