Joseph "Joe" Wayne Buedel, 75, of Colfax, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1950 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Joseph H. and Ola Mae (Chamberlain) Buedel.

Joe graduated from Evansville Central High School and then earned his Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering from Purdue University. He worked for over 20 years as a project manager and oversaw developments for several facilities including Lucas Oil and Ross Ade stadiums, the Indiana State Museum, SIA plant, and the Alaska Pipeline. He also served as an Elder and Youth Leader at Colfax Christian Church, was a volunteer fireman and EMT for Clinton County, and participated in reenactments at the Feast of the Hunters Moon. What Joe cherished the most was every moment that he spent with his family.

Joe was married to Susan Elaine Lynch on May 3, 1969 in Evansville, and she survives. They were members of Harvest Chapel Church in Lafayette.

In addition to his wife, Susan Buedel, Joe is survived by his children, Jeremy Buedel of Dayton, Sarah (Michael) Stephens of Dayton, Rachel (Joseph) Warren of Frankfort, and Joseph Matthew (Jessica) Buedel of San Antonio; sister, Shirley (Walt) Werling of Louisville; and six grandchildren, Michael Stephens, Hannah Stephens, Rebekah Stephens, Aurora Warren, Anne Warren, Caroline Warren, and Joey Buedel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th from 4-7 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th at 10 a.m. with Pastor Tom Camp and Deacon John Gable officiating. Joe will then be laid to rest at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department, Colfax Christian Church, or Harvest Chapel Church.
