Willadean Metro

Willadean Metro, 79, of Buck Creek passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at IU Health Hospital, surrounded by family.

Willadean was born June 12, 1946 in Lafayette, IN, to the late Kenneth and Clara (Owens) Kingery.

On January 26, 1963 she married the love of her life, John J. Metro and he survives. They were married for 63 years.

Willadean was a member of Buck Creek Community Church. She was a Homemaker and Entrepreneur who enjoyed wood working, crafting and sewing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Along with her husband, John, she is survived by her children: Joe (Jennifer) Metro of Rockhill, SC, Jona (Dave) Metro of Buck Creek, IN and Summer (Michael) Taylor of Lafayette,IN; eight grandchildren: Jacob Metro, Levi Metro, Hunter Metro, Haleigh Taylor, Rylee Metro, Makayla Taylor, Alexis Metro and Chloee Metro; and six great-grandchildren: Xaiden Metro, Gage Clemons, Ben Metro, Sage Metro, Audrey DeVault and Olivia Hurst.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, two brothers, Tom and George Kingery and two sisters, Barbara Zufall and Linda Conrad.

Visitation will be held from 12pm – 1pm on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Buck Creek Community Church. Funeral service will begin at 1pm.
