Joseph Burns Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeVito Funeral Home on Dec. 10, 2022.
Joseph E. Burns of Watertown, formerly of Mattapan, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2022. Beloved husband of Ashley (Rocca) Burns. Loving father to Sydney Burns Rivera of Chelmsford, Kaylee Burns, Cameron Burns and Kenzie Burns, all of Watertown. Dear grandfather to Aiden Marks.
Joe Burns was the most amazing father to his children and an absolutely wonderful husband. He was very proud of his time in the Air Force where he was a MWD handler. His first love was his family and his second love was his job working at the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Police Lieutenant. His brothers and sisters in Blue meant the world to him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN on Tuesday December 13th, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Mass to be held Wednesday December 14th in the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown at 10:00 am. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH.
Interment to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Wilfene Belizaire - "9 Caton St"

December 12, 2022

Joey was a dear friend to me and the rest of us on Caton St from our childhood days. From playing sports and riding our bikes, Joey was a crazy and funny kid to be around. Sometimes, he was a little wild but that was Joey. He always had us laughing. He loved his rock music that's for sure and could hit the wiffle ball out the yard every time he was at bat. Playing tag football on our street, he was "Joey Montana" and I was his "Jerry Rice". Words can't express how heartbroken I am. I know how much he will be missed by loved ones, family and friends. My condolences go out to his wife, kids, and grandchild. Rest in paradise my brother and thank you for the good and fun memories I will never forget. Love Wilfene
