Obituary of Joseph George Cantu
July 7, 1948 - October 14, 2025
Joseph George Cantu. Age 77 of Trenton.
Beloved husband of the late Leandra. Loving brother of Dorisann Wilbert and the late James Cantu. Dear uncle of Jessica Roldan, Angela Cantu-Buvia, Bryan Wilbert and Nichole Wilbert.

Joseph Cantu will be remembered as a kind, funny and hardworking man who meant so much to all of us.
Growing up, he and his brother James were known for being a little mischievous - always finding ways to have fun and keep everyone on their toes. Those stories still bring smiles to our faces and show just how full of life he was, even from a young age.
He was married to Leandra for 30 years, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and dogs - which he adored. He loved sharing family memories and could always make us laugh with his sharp, sarcastic sense of humor.
With a big heart for helping others, Joe spent much of his early 20s giving his time and energy to charity work for children in hospitals and young burn victims. He showed incredible compassion and generosity while serving alongside the nation's famous Presidential Santa Claus, bringing comfort and joy to those who needed it most.
He showed that same love and dedication at home, caring for his father, Alex and his mother in law, Jacqueline. That patience and devotion said everything about the kind of person he was.
He worked for Ford for many years in graphic design, where he poured his creativity and problem-solving skills into everything he did. He took great pride in his work and had a genuine love for the people he worked alongside. As a UAW Health and Safety Representative, that love showed in the way he stood up for others, looked out for their well-being, and made sure everyone felt valued and supported.
We'll remember him for the laughter he brought to our family, the stories he loved to tell, and the quiet strength he showed through the years. He'll always be part of us, and we will miss him deeply.
