Joseph E. "Jay" Carter, III passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022. Jay was born in Eustis on August 16, 1967, he graduated from Eustis High School in 1985. He was living in Yulee, Florida and had moved there from Winter Garden last year. Jay was a Christian and recently retired from Walt Disney World where he played several characters, he was most well known for his portrayal of Prince Charming. He is survived by his wife Renee', his children; Jason, Chris, Michael, Alyssa and Addison, his mother and step father, Patty and Dick Mitchell, his father; Joey (Linda) Carter, his brother Jamie (Shannon) many loved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and in in-laws; Ralph and Frances Watson. There will be a celebration of life for friends and family, the time and place will be announced here when available. The family is holding a private Christian service.

Patty and family, I just learned from my son, Charles, about Jay's passing. Such a shock! My heart goes out to you and all the family, especially Jamie. I also learned about his father's passing about a month later and know this has compounded the loss for all the family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and may God comfort you with His love.

I was so saddened to hear of Jay's passing. I performed with Jay for many years at WDW and would also see him often at Hollywood Studios in more recent years. He was always so kind and friendly to me and when I would see him it was if no time had passed. My deepest sympathy for his family especially his wife, children and parents. May God provide you peace during this difficult time.

I didn´t know Jay very well but I graduated with Jamie. Us girls would all watch Jay and comment on how handsome he was. I only know of him being a nice caring guy just like Jamie. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. You have my deepest condolences.
