Joseph Dewey Carter

Joseph "Joe" Carter was called home on Sunday December 14, 2025. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on October 20, 1942 and moved to El Paso, Texas as a child. He graduated from Austin High school. He officiated high school football, loved bowling, camping, fishing and was an avid golfer. His career included working at White Sands and retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company and Texas Gas Service. He made many friends over the years and valued their friendship. He was best known for his wonderful sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jimmy, his children, Michelle and Joseph, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda, his son, Stephen Balderrama (Cecilia), his sister, Francie Montgomery (Dave), grandson, David Potzner, his granddaughter, Stephanie Balderrama (Edgar), great grandchildren, Anthony and Lilith, brothers-in-law, John and Phil Mendez (Lourdes) and numerous nieces and nephews.
