Joseph Glenn “Glenn” Comiskey , age 91, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2026. Born June 17, 1934, in Ennis, Texas, Glenn was the sixth of ten children born to Patrick and Christina Comiskey.

Glenn attended St. John’s Catholic School in Ennis from 1940 until graduating in May 1952. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and landed in Korea at the end of the war, where he reportedly spent most of his time attempting (and failing) to sink an amphibious vehicle. After the Army, Glenn studied chemical engineering at Texas Tech University, where he caused plenty of trouble until he met a pretty girl named Brenda Simnacher, who wisely decided to marry him in December 1959. Glenn graduated in May 1960 and went to work for Baroid in Houston.

During their Houston years, Glenn and Brenda welcomed three daughters: Karen, Sharla, and Linda. In 1967, the family moved to Angleton, Texas, where Glenn began a long career with Dow Chemical, retiring in 1993. He and Brenda traveled, gardened, volunteered, and played many highly competitive games of 42.

After Brenda’s passing in 2013, Glenn’s days included daily happy hour with his friends, regular lunches at Actions, and water aerobics at the recreation center, where he happily exercised alongside the “mermaids.” Glenn was known for his love of a good laugh and his ability to have fun in almost any situation. Glenn loved large family gatherings and any activity that involved being surrounded by people he loved. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family riding bikes, playing games around the table, traveling, fishing, coaching softball, cooking, and teasing—an art form he practiced daily and perfected over a lifetime. His humor, joy, and playful spirit will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Palms Funeral Home at 2300 E. Mulberry St in Angleton, Texas on January 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Actions, Inc. in service of seniors at Actions, Inc. of Brazoria County or 313 W. Mulberry, Angleton, TX 77515.

Glenn is survived by his daughters and their families: Karen and John Lambdin, Sharla and Drew Coleman, and Linda and Patrick Desrochers; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings Paul W. Comiskey, Jerry Comiskey, and Theresa O’Hare; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his best friend and partner-in-crime, Bob Chesser. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to share a laugh, a meal, or a happy hour with him.
