Joseph Coutz, 66, of Bellaire, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born January 26, 1959 a son to the late Robert and Thelma (Shreve) Coutz.

Joseph was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent much of his life as a construction worker and roofer. He took pride in his work, contributing to numerous projects throughout his career.

Outside of his professional life, Joseph had a passion for working on small engines. This hobby brought him immense joy and satisfaction, allowing him to express his creativity and problem-solving skills. Whether it was tinkering in his garage or helping a neighbor with a mechanical issue, Joseph found great joy and peace in this pastime.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Swallie.

He leaves behind his companion of 47 years, Bonnie Allen; children, Bruce Swallie, Brian Swallie, Michael (Joanie) Swallie; sisters and brothers, Deb, Sue, Burt, Frank, Sam; grandchildren, Travis, Alahna, Michael, and Mikayla.
