Joseph Edward Curra, Jr. of Milford, NH, formerly of Lexington, MA passed away on March 15, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. 'Ed' was born in Concord, MA to the late Ruth Isabelle (Davis) and Joseph E. Curra, Sr. The family moved to Lexington, where Ed graduated from High School in 1969. He enlisted in the Marine Corp, where he served until 1972, and reached the rank of Corporal. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he joined his father in the family masonry business. When his father retired, Ed began a successful 30-year career at Hanscom AFB, as a Civil Engineering Technician, until he retired in 2014. Ed was always proud of his service and being a Marine. He began volunteer work at Veteran's organizations serving homeless and disabled vets. Ed also enjoyed Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins, hockey and fishing, and spending time with his family and his much-loved pug, Frances.
Brother of the late Janie Belle (Curra) DeSalvo, and former husband of Janet (Shoemaker) Jellis of Freeport, ME, Ed leaves his son, Warren Joseph and wife Joann Togonon Curra, of Lowell, MA; his daughter RuthAnne Curra Messenheimer of Freeport, ME, and four grandchildren, Robert Charles and Edward Noel Curra; and Josef James and Evlyn Mae Maria Messenheimer of Freeport, ME and Derry NH. Ed also leaves his longtime partner and friend Marla Jaffe, her daughter Ariane and son Jess Levenson. He will be missed by his family and friends, knowing he rests in peace.

Services are private and burial will be for family only in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, MA.
