Milena Curra, 83, passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2025, surrounded by the children and grandchildren who adored her. A devoted wife to her late husband, Pasquale, she leaves this world to join him once more in the Kingdom of Heaven. Affectionately known as "Nonna" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Milena was a beloved and adored mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Milena was born in the small town of Filandari, where she was a member of a large family, including four brothers and two sisters. Milena subsequently met and married Pasquale, her husband, and together they embarked on a brave journey to America, planting new roots in Inwood, New York, where they built a family that now spans three generations. Milena possessed a quiet strength and an instinctive grace. She was an accomplished cook and baker, and the flavors of her kitchen - her breads, her biscotti, her Sunday sauces - became the taste of home for everyone who passed through her door. Her keen sense of style was equally unmistakable. A skilled seamstress with an eye for detail, she delighted in shopping trips with her grandchildren and could turn even a simple outing into a cherished memory. Above all, Milena was known for her generosity of spirit. In her final years, when most would have slowed their pace, she continued to bake cookies for neighbors, friends, and anyone she considered family. Her faith was the steady anchor of her life. A devoted Catholic, she attended weekly Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel and kept a lifelong devotion to Santa Marina, the patron saint of her hometown. Milena's legacy lives on through her only son, Ralph, and his wife, Helen; her four grandchildren, Pasquale, Krystle, Jessica, and Milena; and her four great-grandchildren, Giuliana, Anastasia, Oliver, and Lillian.
