Joseph D'Alessio Obituary
On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 Joseph R. D'Alessio, loving husband , father and grandfather, passed away after a 10-year courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Joe was 79 years old.
Joe was born on February 7, 1942, son to Joseph and Billie D'Alessio. He grew up in Leonia, New Jersey where he discovered his love for hunting and fishing. His passion for the outdoors continued throughout his life. Joe served in the United States Air Force. Joe had a successful career in the packaging industry first as a designer and later found much success in sales.
Joe loved Cape Cod and spent many summers in Orleans with his family. You could find Joe fishing in the early mornings, spending long days at the beach and enjoying all the beauty the Cape offers. He was an avid skier and skied throughout New England as well as out west in Colorado and Utah.
Joe loved football. He was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan and spent many Sundays at his daughter's home watching football. He would cheer for the Patriots- if they weren't playing the Bills.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his son Joseph M. D'Alessio. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose, his daughter, Justine Welch and her husband, Michael, his daughter in law, Lisa D'Alessio, Rose's daughters, Michelle Trombly and Monica Callahan, his brother, James D'Alessio and sister, Elizabeth Gianantonio. He leaves his four grand-children, Nicholas LaCouture, Steven LaCouture and his wife, Brianna, Michael D'Alessio and Jill D'Alessio. He is survived by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA at a later date.
