Joseph (Joe) William Damren, 83, finished his earthly race on May 11, 2024, and met his Savior face-to-face. Born October 3, 1940 in Miami, Florida to the late Joseph Oscar Damren and Mary Lorraine (Chandler) Damren, Joe was the youngest of their four children.
Joe served in the United States Air Force and then served on the missile guidance team working for General Electric at NASA during the Gemini and Apollo space programs at Cape Canaveral, Florida and transferred to work on Sky Lab in Huntsville, Alabama. After moving to Ohio in October 1973 with GE to work on numerical controls, he founded J & P Consultants shortly after his son was born. He served clients all over the US through his business, and passed the generational mantle to his son. A servant at heart, Joe served as a volunteer for 25 years as a Royal Ranger Commander, training boys and young men to be Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. He served his God, his family, his friends, and even strangers. He cooked many spaghetti dinners as fundraisers for church mission trips. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also trained to be a licensed auctioneer, a real estate agent, and made his first solo flight in his goal to be a pilot. He always put God first was never ashamed to speak about his Savior. He was a man of faith and walked it out daily.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tamela (Tammy) Young and her husband Peter; Lisa Kish and her husband Matthew; Melinda Oliver and her husband Albert; Michael Damren and his wife Kim; grandchildren Wesley and his wife Alexandria; Christie; Caitlyn and her husband David; Justin and his wife Makalah; Albert III, Jonathan and his wife Rosa; Joseph, Alexis Lynn, and Andrew Joseph; great-grandchildren Shaun, Ember, Braxton, Ezra, Monroe, Lilah, and Rowen.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his wife Patricia; sister Thelma; and brothers John and Donny.
There will be two (2) Celebration of Life services honoring Joseph: The first service will be held in Florida on June 15, 2024 at 11:00am, at Church of Hope, 2300 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34240; The second service will be in Ohio on June 22, 2024 at Victory Lane Assembly of God, 7550 Bellflower Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060 at 10:00am.
