Joseph DeLuca Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 17, 2025.
Joseph A DeLuca
Joseph was a lifelong resident of Arcadia Florida where he chose to raise his children and grandchildren beside his loving wife of 40 Years. One of the last few left to teach us stories of our heritage.
He was retired from Bright Hour Ranch. Alongside his brothers and many close friends, where he held many titles that he was very proud of.
There wasn't much he couldn't do, from wood working, mechanic, hunting, fishing, being a great storyteller and being a Boss! lol Jack of all trades.
Family was of upmost importance to Big Joe. He was a devoted Husband,Father, Brother, Uncle and most importantly Pop Pop.
His yearly vacations consisted of everyone getting together for a week of fun in the sun on the lake. We would have so many houses rented we took up the whole block. Even friends of family became family all while participating in the morning fishing tournaments trying to out do Big Joe on the biggest fish! (We could never tell what we caught fish on that morning as somebody might try to use the same bait) lol. He carried the Golden Horseshoe as we called it. Still to this day his records haven't been beat!
Big Joe was proud of both his kids and was always willing to lend a helping hand or stern direction which ever was needed at the time. (We hope we have made you proud)
If you knew him more than likely he didn't call you by your name, he made nicknames for everyone that were easier for him to remember. Whether we liked them at the time or not. And more than likely the next animal he got (chickens, birds or fish) he gave your real name to them.lol
The strength we knew he had shined bright as he beat many odds given by doctors over and over again. It's time to rest now Daddy. You don't have to be strong for us anymore.
To all his medical staff we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wanted you to know how special all of you were to him as he spoke of you all, daily.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife Mildred. His two children Angie (Steve) and Jason
Ashley, 3 wonderful grandchildren Jacob, Bella and Allie. One sister Marian (Mag) Deluca
3 nephews Donald (Staci) Johnny and Howie and 1 niece Janet (Donnie) that he thought of as his own as well as their 6 children Kassidy, Kamren, John David, Braden, Jayse and Ethan and their 3 grandchildren, Trace, James, and Layton as well as so many close friends and other family that he cherished.
Private service will be held by the family and friend's graveside.
We stand firm in the faith our Husband, Daddy, Brother, Pop Pop, and Uncle, Big Joe is now rejoicing up in heaven finally reunited with so much of our family and loved ones that has been waiting for him.
He is proceeded in death by his Mom, Betty Dad Joseph Sr, Brothers John and Jerry, sister Rose Ann and nephew Tony Lee.
Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
