Joseph Harry Doucet Jr.

Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Joseph Harry Doucet, Jr., 65. Mr. Doucet, a native of Church Point and resident of Cankton, LA, died Sunday afternoon, September 21 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Entombment immediately following in the OLSH Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bledsoe Doucet of Cankton; his daughters, Kimberly Doucet of Lafayette and Ashley Doucet of Bossier City, LA; a step-son, Richard Smart of Bossier City; his sisters, Cathy Doucet of Church Point and Belinda Manuel and husband Todd of Jagneauxville, LA; his brothers: Albert Doucet and wife Elaine of Jagneauxville, Emery Doucet and wife Naomi of 3-Mile Lake, LA, Charles Ray Doucet of Island Lake, IL, Michael Doucet and wife Brenda of Church Point and Malcolm Doucet of Youngsville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Harry, Sr. and Marylee Venable Doucet and a brother, J.B. Doucet.

Harry, who served as General Chairman of the Union for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years, was a loving husband, father and sibling. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM by Deacon Kenneth David.
