On May 2, 2022 Joseph Frederick Drinkhorn II left this world to join our Heavenly Father in Heaven. The cause of death Fourth Stage Colon Cancer and short-term illness of dementia/Alzheimer's.
Joseph Frederick Drinkhorn II of Armada, Michigan was born at The Ten Acres, which was his family's farm on March 30, 1933. The son of Joseph W. Drinkhorn and Clara (Forton-Drinkhorn) and Stepfather Leon Jersey.
Joseph met Joann Rose (Knop-Fenningsdorf) at the Collins Roller Rink with her 2 sons. Joseph married his beloved friend Joann on December 21, 1960, they were married 48 joyous years before her passing. Now he joins her in eternal life in Heaven with all whom went before him.
Joseph is survived by his children, Cathy Jo (Stanley) Hoffman of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Joseph A. Drinkhorn (III) of Lynn Twp., Michigan, David (Fran) Drinkhorn of Armada, Michigan, Nancy (Eduardo) De Jesus of Mussey, Michigan, Bobbi Jo (Harold) De Moines of Otter Lake, Michigan; step-children, Jack (Rose) Fenningsdorf of North Branch, Michigan and Richard J. Fenningsdorf of Romeo, Michigan; 13 grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Joseph is predeceased by his parents and step-father; in-laws George and Phyllis (Large's) Knop; sisters Catherine Adams, Mildred Neumayer, and Anna Strong; granddaughter Elizabeth (Drinkhorn) De Moines; Good Old Friend Fred Neuman; and many others before him.
Joseph's passion when he was younger were to Roller Skate as an Amateur Dancing on skates. He talked about the old-time cars and enjoyed family time at The Ten Acres. Joseph retired from the Chesterfield Ford Plant after 30 years of work in 1998. He worked as a pipefitter in the good old shop where he had his own Little Area and talked of it highly. Prior to that he worked on a farm, worked in the woods. He also worked for the DTE Power Plant in East China, Michigan for a short term then went to General Motors in Flint, Michigan. During a separation (divorced) moved back home to care for his parents. Worked for Fred Neuman as a well driller and did lots of farming the fields. He ended up at Ford's for a living in the end.
