Joseph Drozek

Joseph Kevin Drozek, affectionately known as Sonny, passed on to the kingdom of heaven on January 30, 2026. He was 80 years old.

Born on January 26,1946 to Helene Drozek and Joseph Sciacca (both from Boston), Sonny was a steady pillar of strength for all of his family and friends. He spent his early childhood in California, eventually moving to Dorchester after his father's passing. It was through family friends that he later met and married Nora Lee Pulliam and was blessed with two sons, Benjamin and then Joseph (who passed during infancy). An employee of the the United States Postal Service for 33 years and the owner of a baseball card store, Joe was an example of how to live life to its fullest. He spent the remainder of his retirement as a resident of Quincy near his beloved sister Mary Lou.

Although he battled Multiple Sclerosis in his later years, Sonny never let his illness define him. Through his humor, wit and resilience, he continued to lead a full intellectual and social life.

Joe was a faithful servant of Christ and a light to those around him. He is survived by his son Benjamin, daughter-in-law Kristin, sister Mary Lou and her partner David.

A proud Papa to his four grandsons, Benjamin, Christian, Liam, and Johnathan Drozek - he will always be remembered as a steady voice of reason who taught, by example, how to live with love and perseverance.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting hours Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00am - 12:00pm., with a funeral service to follow at the Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street Quincy.
