Joseph Calvin Eaker Sr, of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee went home to be with his Savior on Saturday August 8th, 2025. Joe was born on July 13th, 1934 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Myrtle Dunne and Issac Calvin Eaker.

He grew up in Chattanooga graduating from Chattanooga High School where he met his wife of 59 years, Myra. After their marriage, they moved North and settled in Markham, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He dedicated his career to accounting, working for Republic Steel for 30 years.

Joe was always involved with his children, and community. He was a Markham Little Leage Coach, a local Lion's Club President, Volunteer Markham Firefighter, Organist for Homan Avenue Baptist Church, and an Alderman for the City of Markham, Ward 4 from 1973-1981. He was also the organist for a local band "The Caravelles" for 15 years.

Upon his retirement in 1998, Joe and Myra returned to their southern roots and settled in Soddy-Daisy Tennessee.

Joe was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Myra LonL Eaker, his brother Marvin Banks Eaker, his sister-in-law Patrica Eaker and his nephew Thomas Eaker.

Joe is survived by his Four Children, Rhonda (John) Sebock of Erie, Colorado, Joseph (Lynne) Eaker Jr of Frankfort, Illinois, Lonny (Kyong Nam) Eaker of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Scott Eaker of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Five Grandchildren, Christina (Aaron) Cardinale of Thornton, Colorado, April Eaker of Buffalo, New York, Elizabeth Eaker of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Megan Eaker of Hixson, Tennessee, Zachary Eaker of Rantoul, Illinois and his Great-Grandson, Dominic Cardinale of Thornton, Colorado.

Joe was known for his kind heart, sly sense of humor and his unwavering support for his family and friends. A Family Graveside Service is planned for early September.
