Joseph "Joe" Orley Edick, a lifelong farmer who always looked to the future and never the past, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Joe, 74, of Charlotte, was born on July 5, 1950 in Eaton Rapids, the son of F. Leland "Toots" and Della (Patterson) Edick. On June 18, 1977, Joe married the love of his life Stacey Sederlund, and together they created many lasting memories. Joe dedicated his life to his farm. He served both as a crop and dairy farmer, farming several hundred acres and milked 60 cows, and had over 100 head of cattle. Over the years he proudly served on the MMPA, DHIA, and Eaton Farm Bureau board. During the winter Joe enjoyed preparing his equipment for the next season. When Joe was not working on the farm, he enjoyed playing golf, trips to the U.P. to snowmobile and chase the waterfalls, cutting wood, watching the Lions and Tigers, playing euchre, playing softball and hockey, and chatting with his farmer friends. Above all, his biggest passion in life came from his children and the farm that he built alongside his wife.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Stacey; children, Jason (Coreen) Edick, Katie (Frank) Barretta, and Michael (Kelsie) Edick; 8 grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Kendra, Lucy, Elliana, Fia, Rosemary, and Piper; brother, Pete Edick; brother-in-law, Rick (Donna) Sederlund; his beloved dog, Lady Bird; and grand dog, Oli. He was predeceased by his parents; and his father and mother-in-law, Roger and Darlene Sederlund.
Friends are encouraged to support Joe's family by attending visitation or sharing memories on his Tribute Page at www.prayfuneral.com. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5-8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. A private family graveside service will take place at Center Eaton Cemetery. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Charlotte FFA. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
